About the Go Buy Rochester Project
GoBuyRochester.com is a different kind of online local shopping site. It's not about distance -- it's about local economic impact.
The project targets an eleven county region around the Metro Rochester area.
Picture a rich, unique shopping experience that benefits the region - powered by YOU...whether you're a manufacturer, retailer, or shopper.
Shoppers will be able to conveniently shop products of businesses that are located in the GBR region -- and easily purchase items from multiple businesses with a single checkout.
Macro, Micro, Let's Grow!
A note on economic impact - it doesn't have to be hard to make a difference. This project seeks to make it easy for shoppers to find and purchase goods whose sale will positively impact the region's economy.
How do we figure? When a shopper's dollars are spent on goods made nearby, or sold by a company that contributes to the local economy, and pays employees or purchases services here - more shopping dollars stay closer to home.
Products that are built in the GBR region will be highlighted, and featured prominently so shoppers can quickly identify them as items that have the greatest potential impact on the local economy!
As the number of dollars in the local economy grows, so does the potential for those dollars to be re-invested in services consumed locally AND the consumers themselves - in the form of jobs, profits, and more.
It starts with you, and ends with you. GoBuyRochester.com is the tool that connects the shoppers and sellers – enabling shoppers to quickly shop multiple local businesses from one site, through one checkout process.

Are you a locally owned, independent business in the GBR region? Getting started is painless:
- Check out the participation criteria to see if you qualify
- Visit our "Become a Member" page or give us a call at 585-924-8680
- Once approved, we'll work with you to get your products loaded into the system
- YOU control your product data and YOU set the prices
- When set-up is complete, products will become available for sale
- You do not need to have a web site to participate
- You can opt to manage your own fulfillment or have GBR help
